A Westboro-based technology firm is entering its next chapter.

Intega IT, located in the heart of the Westboro Village, has merged with Fuelled Networks, bringing together two long-standing Ottawa firms to form a stronger, locally owned IT and cybersecurity provider serving businesses across the region.

The combined organization brings together more than three decades of experience from both companies and a team of over 30 professionals, with a continued focus on cybersecurity, AI advisory, and proactive IT leadership. For local businesses, that means access to deeper expertise at a time when technology is playing an increasingly central role in day-to-day operations.

“We’ve always believed IT should be integrated into the core of a business,” said John Robinson, CEO of Intega IT. “Our role is to align technology with business goals and support growth. Bringing our teams together strengthens our ability to do that at a deeper level.”

As part of the transition, Ernie Sherman will step into the role of President at Intega IT. Sherman has led Fuelled Networks since 1998 and is known for his expertise in cybersecurity strategy.

A Strong Connection to Community

The merger also builds on both organizations’ long-standing support of Ottawa’s community organizations.

Intega IT serves as the official IT partner of Atlético Ottawa, providing reliable infrastructure that supports operations and game-day performance. Since 2015, it has also worked alongside Carty House, providing hardware, technology support, and ongoing IT services to support the women they serve. In addition, Intega IT is the presenting sponsor of The Snowsuit Fund’s annual Snowball Gala, with Robinson serving on the organization’s Board of Directors.

Fuelled Networks brings decades of community involvement, including long-term support of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation and contributions to organizations such as The Ottawa Mission and the Ottawa Food Bank.

Together, the newly combined team will continue to contribute to these organizations and others across Ottawa, building on a shared commitment to supporting the community through both technology and engagement.

Meeting a Critical Moment for Business Technology

The timing of the merger is also significant to Ottawa business needs. Companies are navigating a rapidly evolving technology landscape, shaped by increasing cybersecurity risks and the growing adoption of AI. Both Intega IT and Fuelled Networks have consistently treated security as a foundational part of business operations, rather than an add-on.

“Security isn’t static,” said Ernie Sherman, President. “The baseline is always changing. New threats emerge, technologies evolve, and businesses need structured action plans to adapt. Our focus is helping clients stay ahead.”

With expanded resources and deeper specialization, the combined firm is positioned to support businesses with stronger security frameworks, practical AI strategies, and ongoing education to help organizations better align their technology with their broader business goals.

Continuing to Grow from Westboro

Intega IT will continue to operate from its Westboro office, contributing to the neighbourhood’s growing network of businesses and professionals.

As the company grows, its focus remains consistent: supporting clients, strengthening community connections, and helping Ottawa businesses navigate an increasingly complex technology environment.
