The Power of Community

Silvia created powerhaus to be a fitness destination where members can feel welcomed and a part of the community. Community is a major focus for her and the business, not only for powerhaus members but for residents in Westboro. She would know; she lives here too!

“powerhaus was born out of a desire to disrupt the traditional fitness space by offering science-based, strength-focused fitness & training that is inviting and inclusive for everyone.” She says.

“At powerhaus, we make fitness simple by taking the guesswork out of weight training. Our workouts are designed to be effective, safe, and tailored to individual needs, all while being delivered in a supportive and fun atmosphere.”

Fitness Classes at powerhaus

There are a variety of classes that help meet your own personal fitness goals. If you want to build muscle and functional strength, try the PowerBUILD Class. For full body conditioning focusing on strength and cardio vascular health, PowerBURN may be for you. PowerMIXER combines strength, conditioning and mobility while PowerDOWN has slower, more controlled movements focusing on reducing tension, rehabilitation and injury prevention.

Classes, circuit training, and personal training sessions make up the core of the service powerhaus offers, but what makes powerhaus so popular with many in Westboro and in the Ottawa area? Silvia believes this all comes down to the members themselves.

“The true heart of powerhaus is our members. For many, this is the best hour of their day—a space where they feel seen, supported, and challenged in a way that pushes them beyond their limits, both physically and mentally. As a woman entrepreneur, I’ve worked tirelessly to build a business that not only provides a high-quality fitness experience but also makes strength training accessible to those who may have never considered it before.”

The fitness industry is changing

There’s been a change in the fitness industry and Silvia admits she’s happy to hear it. “I’m incredibly proud of the shift we’re seeing in how women of all ages approach fitness. It’s no longer about just trying to be thin where working out feels like a chore. Now, more women  — from young girls in our youth classes to seniors who’ve taken up weight training—are focusing on becoming strong, empowered, and capable.” She shared, and this seems to have always been a part of what she wanted to see at powerhaus too.
“At powerhaus, we’ve created a safe and supportive space where everyone can embrace strength, both physically and mentally, and I’m thrilled to see this mindset grow and evolve in our community.”
