Community Carol Sing

On Saturday, November 22nd, the festivities commence at the All Saints Anglican Church courtyard (347 Richmond Rd).

From 4PM to 5PM, join us for a heartwarming event as we illuminate the sky with light, filling the community with joy and hope. Attendees can look forward to:

  • Hot drinks and sweet treats
  • A holiday sing-along led by our community ukelele group
  • Trying out a new interactive art and music installation over in Winston Square
  • Illuminating the courtyard canopy with twinkling holiday lights
  • Hearing from representatives of each charity on how your support can change someone’s holiday season

Make sure to check out Winston Square as it is transformed for the holidays with a 6-week installation of an interactive holiday music box, along with a holiday chime tree where you can learn how to play Jingle Bells. Don’t forget to tag us on social media when you use it to share your holiday moments in the village with us @westborovillage!

 

Westboro Village will also be bringing back its customer appreciation day to kick off the holiday shopping season again on November 26th! Stay tuned to see what our businesses are doing to celebrate you.

Charity Drives

As the holiday season unfolds, we are excited to spread joy through three charity drives. Each drive will take place on a Saturday leading up to the holidays from 1PM – 4PM. See below for dates, locations, and items needed.

Cornerstone - Housing For Women

Saturday, Nov. 29th

Winston Square (399 Winston Avenue)

Cornerstone is asking for the following new donation items:

  • Cozy socks
  • Hand lotion, body wash, shampoo
  • Art books/activity books
  • Underwear (sizes S – 4XL)
  • Colouring pencils, fun pens, markers
  • Christmas gift bags
  • $10 gift cards (Superstore, Shoppers, Tim Horton’s, etc)

 

The Sconewitch will also be a drop-off location until December 15th for donations.

Carlington Community Health Centre

Saturday, Dec. 6th

Carlington Community Health Centre is asking for the following new donation items:

  • Winter hats
  • Gloves and mittens
  • Scarves
  • Hot beverages (tea, coffee, hot chocolate)
  • Socks

Westboro Region Food Bank

Westboro Region Food Bank is asking for the following new donation items:

  • Tinned fish/meats, tomatoes and fruit
  • Dry pasta and sauce
  • Powdered milk
  • Tea and coffee
  • Dry lentils and chickpeas
  • Maple syrup, honey, peanut butter, Nutella
  • Baby food
  • Hygiene products

Toy Mountain Drop-off at Frontline Credit Union
Once again this season, Frontline Credit Union will be Toy Mountain’s Community Drop-Off location for Westboro. Starting the week after Remembrance Day until December 18th, community members can donate a new, unwrapped toy to bring joy to children this season and help Frontline Credit Union reach their goal of 2,000 toys!

Find Frontline Credit Union at 365 Richmond Road, open Mondays to Fridays from 9 AM to 4:30 PM.

Baking with Santa at Batter Up Bakery

Join Santa along with Sarah from Creations Behind the Lense for a lifetime of memories captured. Sarah will help create core memories for your child as they “bake” with Santa in this Mini Photo session. You’ll get to meet Santa and take pictures with him while pretend baking.

Duration: 15 min
Result: 10-20 edited images in time for holiday card printing.
