Winston Square has some beautiful birds stopping by this summer!
Birdhouse, Westboro Village’s first-ever interactive art installation by LeMonde Studio, has landed in Winston Square! From now until mid-August, visitors can stop by the public space to crank the wheel and listen to the birds sing.
“Placemaking is all about creating special moments within your community and encouraging positive conversations. Birdhouse embodies this concept beautifully,” says LeMonde.
The businesses of Westboro Village wanted to bring together the community and create some magic in our little corner of Ottawa. Whenever you pass by Winston Square, take a moment to listen to the birdsong! The Westboro Village BIA is also hosting Birds & Blooms on May 24th – an event to connect with our neighbours and celebrate this installation.
This is not your traditional, “look, don’t touch,” art exhibit; visitors of all ages are encouraged to interact and listen to the birds sing! Stop by in the evening to watch them glow.

This is not the only installation at Winston Square. The permanent public art piece, the Winston Chandelier, has illuminated the space since 2016. Westboro Village is also home to the Nature Walk, featuring photography by Michelle Valberg, a variety of murals and a short walk to Short Story, at Churchill Ave and Byron Ave.
