With an inspired palette and selection, La Muse, a women’s clothing and accessories boutique in Westboro Village, invites you in to find your personal style with ease. Owner Sarah Barr has created a space with every shopper in mind who wants a boutique experience with a contemporary selection.
Sarah isn’t new to Westboro Village; she owned Green Tree Eco Fashion for many years and in 2022 opened La Muse.
Why Westboro? Sarah’s connection is one reason she wanted to anchor Ottawa’s La Muse location here. “Being able to be back in the community that I love and seeing the people that I have gotten to know for over 15 years since I started Green Tree.” She says of the area “I do love that nature is right on my doorstep.” Although she admits, like other area residents, she prefers it when it’s less cold.

Clients who visit the shop include all ages and stages of life looking to build a capsule wardrobe, collect statement pieces or update their seasonal basics. There’s attention to curating clothing that is affordable and accessible, while also emphasizing quality and long-lasting, functional items. There are over 45 different brands, mostly Canadian and European.
What inspires Sarah in her approach to La Muse? “I love clothes and how they make people feel but in my everyday. I am happiest letting my clients shine. Growing up in a family that loved fashion, art and a wide variety of music I appreciate that style is personal and I really love being able to show clients what works for them and their bodies so they can express themselves.”

I would rather that spotlight be on others and help them shine. I love to see clients light up when they find a style that may be just a little out of their comfort zone but really makes them happy. It makes me feel good and it’s so rewarding.”
