Giving Tuesday

This has been an incredibly challenging year, not only for our local businesses but the many charities that work to support the greater Ottawa community.

Throughout 2020, the businesses of Westboro Village have supported an incredible number of charities through individual donations and events. One of the most recent efforts, was the campaign by Capital Printers Drive & Pledge for A Better Tomorrow in support of the Ottawa Food Bank. This summer we were thrilled to welcome Capital Printers to Westboro Village and look forward to their continued philanthropic work in the community.

As a group of businesses through the BIA, we have been honoured to support our community in 2020.  Donations have been made to support Salus Ottawa and Cornerstone Housing for Women who both play a vital role in safe housing in Ottawa. Additionally, we have supported the amazing community work of Dovercourt Community Centre and through them the SJAM Winter Trail. We recently announced our continued support for the SJAM Winter Trail for the 2020/2021 season.

As the year closes out, we will be donating to our local food bank, the Westboro Region Food Bank, a member agency of the Ottawa Food Bank. This powerful little group runs out of one room at All Saints Anglican Church and provides amazing support to the local community searching for food security. This month they are looking for special holiday items to help those they serve celebrate the holiday season.  You can download their holiday shopping list here

This Giving Tuesday, if you are able, we encourage you to learn more about these fantastic organizations doing great work in our community and support them, by making a donation and follow them on social media.
