Michelle Groulx: Celebrating an Early Mother’s Day in Westboro

Last week, my mom and I celebrated an early Mother’s day in Westboro. The result was an awesome keepsake we will both have for, hopefully, a very long time.

I met mom at The Loft West. She had just finished with a gorgeous colour and cut from Rachelle, who also happens to be an owner. For mom, it wasn’t just about the spectacular results, she also said it was the best shampoo massage she had ever had (a claim I can verify myself)!

We jaunted over to Whispers for a quick nibble afterward. While it wasn’t warm enough to enjoy one of their many patios, we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere indoors while we were treated to their characteristically great service and the taco special. Worth it!

I had planned our whole outing around an evening succulents workshop at Flowers Talk Tivoli. We enjoyed more nibbles and bevvies there and we both created something special together that we could each take home. Actually, my masterpiece is at the BIA office at 261A Richmond Road.

‘They’ say the best gifts are experiences meant to be shared, and I agree. My mom never wants anything really—which makes it super hard to get her a gift! So, an evening out, making a beautiful piece to bring home to remember was worth it!
