Breakfast in Westboro

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Its often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If it isn’t the most important, then for thousands it is at least the favourite of the three. In an increasingly fast-paced world, breakfast remains one of  the most likely ways that you will find yourself opposite your friends, family, or colleagues, taking a moment to pause and enjoy a meal together.

Take a look at some of the favourite places in Westboro Village where you can sit down, enjoy a cup of coffee (or three) and start the day right.[/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_padding_divider size=”50″][mk_image_slideshow images=”5504,5505″ image_width=”335″ image_height=”335″ pause_on_hover=”true”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

385 Richmond

You may have passed by this local fave without even knowing it. If it weren’t for the daily line-up of breakfast-lovers, you’d almost miss one of Ottawa’s best breakfasts hidden behind its unassuming exterior.

If you’re not usually someone who is eager to wait in line for anything, we urge you to rethink your position. This tourtiere  (pictured) was served on top of eggs as a part of breakfast has been described as “life changing”. Also pictured is the Fish and Chips meal, both just a glimpse of the way Baker Street can elevate the humble breakfast plate to an art-form.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_padding_divider size=”50″][vc_column_text]

The Savoy Brasserie

334 Richmond

Walking into Savoy is like taking an accidental left in Ottawa and winding up in Paris. Pictured here is what may seem like a simple breakfast; however, upon closer inspection, the keen-eyed will note that the eggs have been garnished with crunchy fried pork belly accompanied by perfectly-cooked asparagus, and freshly grated parmesan. One may see ordinary French toast…only to have their minds blown by the brandy and Cointreau batter, and freshly toasted walnuts. Well played Savoy…well played.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_padding_divider size=”75″][mk_image_slideshow images=”5513,5516″ image_width=”335″ image_height=”335″ pause_on_hover=”true”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_padding_divider size=”50″][mk_image_slideshow images=”5511,5506,5507,5512″ image_width=”335″ image_height=”335″ pause_on_hover=”true”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_padding_divider size=”50″][vc_column_text]

295 Richmond

Many think that the under-$10 breakfast has gone the way of the Dodo. Well, not if Dunn’s has anything to say about it. An official breakfast diner has come to Westboro, and what’s more: Monday to Friday (Open – 11am) you can get their breakfast special– two eggs served the way you like; choice of meat; toast, homefries and coffee…for $5.99.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_padding_divider size=”50″][vc_column_text]

Pure Kitchen

357 Richmond

For those skeptical that a breakfast without the “Grade A” eggs couldn’t possibly make the grade, eh… you need to give Pure Kitchen’s %100 vegan breakfast a shot. You may walk in not-knowing what tempeh is, but you’ll leave loving it; and their tofu scramble will make you forget all about the traditional version. Top off your meal with a freshly squeezed fruit juice, organic coffees, or one of their signature smoothies (or smoothie bowl) and you’ll leave Pure Kitchen not only full, but questioning why you don’t cut out the meat more often![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_padding_divider size=”80″][mk_image_slideshow images=”5522,5524″ image_width=”335″ image_height=”335″ pause_on_hover=”true”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][mk_padding_divider size=”50″][vc_column_text]We don’t have the space here (or in our stomachs) to cover all the amazing breakfast treats on offer here in Westboro Village. Whether you’re grabbing a scone on the run, or a freshly baked croissant, we have breakfast covered!
